The MOUNTAIN WEST CONFERENCE is seeking a highly motivated and experienced person for the position of Assistant Director of Communications/Multimedia Coordinator. The successful candidate will serve as the primary contact for sports as assigned by the Assistant Commissioner for Communications, while maintaining the conference Web site.
Must have Web site skills with the ability to write, edit and produce press releases and media guides. Knowledge and experience with QuarkXPress and StatCrew software helpful. Strong knowledge of HTML code required; experience with web graphics programs, PhotoShop and/or Paint Shop Pro; familiarity with video and audio webcasting; knowledge of Excel spreadsheets; accurate word processing required; excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills; spelling, and proofreading skills; ability to work under short deadlines; initiative and dependability; ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously; strong attention to detail; ability to work well with a team; ability to work in a changing environment with variable pressure. Travel, night and weekend work will be required.
Required: Bachelor's degree in journalism, communication or a related field with a minimum of two years previous work experience in an athletics media relations office and/or a related field.
