SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT is a feature on TheMWC.com where the Mountain West will correct or clarify misleading or inaccurate information appearing in press accounts.

Jon Wilner provided inaccurate information in a June 10 San Jose Mercury News article titled "Pac-10 TV Schedule is Here." While referencing a slate of games scheduled for Sept. 13, 2008, Wilner states, "The Stanford-TCU game (4 p.m.) will also be televised that day, but it's on The Mountain TV Network, and I doubt that's available to many west coast viewers." His statement is factually inaccurate due to the fact DIRECTV will be launching the MountainWest Sports Network - The Mtn. on August 27, which means the network will be available nationwide, as customers throughout the country will be able to access The Mtn. with a subscription to DIRECTV's Sportspack - in addition to fans in Mountain West Conference markets being able to see The Mtn. as part of DIRECTV's CHOICE and above packages.
