ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Rudy Davalos said he has some unfinished business to wrap up before he steps down as the University of New Mexico's athletics director.

Now, Davalos said, he should have more than enough time to add some finishing touches to a department he has headed for nearly a decade.

Davalos, 63, said he recently signed a two-year contract extension that will keep him at UNM until 2007.
