MWC Sends Three Individuals and Three Doubles Teams To 2003 NCAA Tennis Championships

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Mountain West Conference will be represented by three individuals and three doubles teams at the 2003 NCAA Tennis Championships.

For the men, San Diego State's Oliver Maiberger (No. 42 in the nation), Air Force's Shannon Buck (No. 71) and New Mexico's Divan Coetzee were selected to compete in the 64-player singles tournament. In doubles competition, No. 2 Oliver Maiberger and Ryan Redondo (SDSU) and No. 27 Ryan Stotland and Brent Salazar (New Mexico) will compete in the 32-team draw. Maiberger and Redondo earned the second seed in the tournament.

On the women's side, San Diego State's 34th-ranked tandem of Silvia Tornier and Indra Erichsen were chosen as alternates in the 32-team doubles tournament.

The men's singles and doubles competition will be conducted May 21-26 in Athens, Ga., following the conclusion of the team championship (May 16-20), while the women's singles and doubles will take place May 19-24 in Gainesville, Fla., following the conclusion of the team championship (May 15-18).
