COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - University of Utah director of intercollegiate athletics, Chris Hill, was named the 2003-04 Mountain West Conference Commissioner's Award winner.

Hill was recognized for his work in advancing the interests of the Mountain West during his four-year term on the NCAA Management Council, particularly on key NCAA academic and governance issues during the past academic year, in addition to his recent appointment to the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Committee.

The Award was given by the MWC Recognition and Awards Committee during its bi-annual Joint Council meeting, April 13-15, in Park City, Utah. The Commissioner's Award is presented to an individual who, through dedicated effort and service has achieved a singularly distinguished accomplishment, during the current academic year, that has significantly enhanced the Mountain West Conference.

Hill becomes the first Commissioner's Award recipient in MWC history.
