Full-time temporary position anticipated to end on or before June 30, 2007, with possibility for reappointment and/or permanency.
SALARY:
$2,671 - $3,472 mo. Commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will identify prospects in order to cultivate, sell, and fulfill season and individual ticket packages. Continue the development of new ticket revenue and trade resources for the Athletic department. Cultivate new relationships to ensure attendance/revenue growth. Manage and maintain existing accounts on an annual basis. Establish strong relationships with partnership companies and organizations. Develop written proposals/presentations for current or new business prospects. Work with the Ticket Office, Corporate Sales, and Marketing to ensure efficiency in the sales process. Prepare written correspondence, invoice clients for goods and services, and create contracts. Develop comprehensive marketing plans for individual sports programs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Working knowledge of university policies and procedures, conference, and NCAA regulations. Knowledge of marketing principles. Thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Excellent organizational, oral/written communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent leadership and public speaking skills. Ability to work within a complex organizational framework which includes the NCAA, the Mountain West Conference, and the California State University system. Ability to create synergies with a variety of internal and external partners. Ability to effectively organize and prioritize multiple functions with a high degree of detail and complexity. Ability to meet deadlines under pressure. Ability to work successfully with diverse individuals including Athletics personnel, university constituents, customers, and external clients.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of one year experience in sales, marketing, or promotions. Experience with sports marketing, sales acumen, and collegiate athletics preferred.
SPECIALIZED SKILLS REQUIRED:
Proficient with Word, Excel, email, and internet. Compliance with all NCAA, conference, and San Diego State University rules, policies and procedures is of paramount importance to the university.
