UNLV will host the 2006 Mountain West Conference Softball Championship May 11-13 at Eller Media Stadium in Las Vegas. This marks the first time in the six-year history of the championship that the event will be held in Las Vegas. Eller Media Stadium at Jim Rogers Field opened in the spring of 2002 and accomodates nearly 770 fans. The winner of the Mountain West Conference Tournament receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Bracket Notes:
1. If the winner of Game #5 defeats the winner of Game #3 (Game #7), then Game #9 is necessary.
2. If the winner of Game #6 defeats the winner of Game #4 (Game #8), then Game #10 is necessary.
3. If necessary games will be played at 12 noon and 2:30 p.m. if both games are needed or 2:30 p.m. if only one of necessary games need to be played. The championship game will begin at 5:30 p.m.
4. If semi-final games on Saturday are not necessary, the championship game will begin at 5:30 p.m.
5. Seeds will be determined after the conclusion of the regular season with the top two seeds receiving first-round byes. The host team shall play in the evening session in the first round
